This might have been addressed, but 21 pages of comments is a lot to go through. Any thoughts on the tape that Hank made of Jesse's confession? If that's still in Uncle Jack's VCR, and the cops find it, unless Jesse goes into hiding, couldn't this spell trouble for him? I'm sure whatever deal he had worked out with

Sean O'Neal. What a joy.

Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Farts

"Charlemagne, the one-time Holy Roman Emperor" is a very strange way to put it: Ramses the one-time Egyptian pharaoh… Julius Caesar the one-time assassinated Roman general… Anne Boleyn the one-time beheaded wife of Henry VIII. I like it.

This movie is one of my favorites. Really overlooked. There's so much going on. A little thing I love is that early on the producers bullshitted Herb that they would put him on a panel show if he threw the game for Van Doren, but the idea of Herb actually being on a panel show is treated like it would be ludicrous. bells from the deep
you can watch it for free on veoh.com and I would recommend you do so, it's only an hour and well worth it

but why are they dry? I know that they are definitely tougher to follow story-wise, but dry is, I think, the wrong description. There is much life in them, and they are even at times quite funny specifically when Godard acts in them (in Carmen, that is; I haven't seen Detective).

impenetrably gnomic?
I don't know how anyone can compare Passion, First Name: Carmen, and even his newest films like Notre Musique to painting still-lifes (he even did a version of King Lear, didn't read the play, and cast Norman Mailer who quit after realizing the incest angle Godard was playing). These are rich,
