@DDB9000:disqus  I definitely fall into the camp of seeing vintage Lucas/Spielberg at the age when they induced maximum enjoyment for me. Whatever new cinematic sins they commit, Raiders and Jedi were still hugely formative in my love of movies.

@avclub-efb3d8be0319721ef751da0b05d9f6a5:disqus : "cynicism leading me to feel creeped out by the throngs of hyper-enthusiastic band-worshippers"

Yeah, what the hell? He got his point across, but that was an awful analogy.

I hope this works out. I want to see Oswalt creatively involved in making the kind of nerdy stuff he clearly loves. His career should be more similar to Simon Pegg's than it is.

Indeed, Root comes across as a very good-natured fellow in this interview. I've never seem so many "[Laughs.]" littered in an interviewee's responses. He seems like a professional, super-nice guy.

Bill O'Reilly was an underused cameo for one simple reason. We were denied this:

@Lt. Broccoli To me, calling someone "talented," vs. "skilled," implies an endorsement that you admire what they do.

"No feeling = you personally don't like it?"

"You are banned from this historical society! You, and your children, and your children’s children…for 3 months"

The music and editing in that video make it superior to this supercut, in my opinion. This still has some gems, but I agree the lack of Raising Arizona is blasphemous.

Nicolas Cage is a National Treasure.

I admire Yngwie the way I admire an athlete. I'm impressed by his physical ability, but I don't really care. His playing doesn't give me any of the things I come to music for.

Muppets > Cirque Du Soleil

I hear ya @avclub-920530cb8744c679e3a2ece84f1d5ce4:disqus . On paper, E6 sounds like a promising avenue for discovering new bands. I'm a power pop fan myself, but the Minders, like other E6 bands, just sound like a hazier version of bands I like. I haven't given up, but E6 is lacking in the hook department for me

Thanks. I'll definitely check that out.  The presence of Vic Chestnutt sounds promising.

I find E6 frustrating. I want to like, and have tried getting into, most of the bands mentioned in this article, but nothing seems to stick. "Aeroplane" is one of my favorite albums ever, but it's kind of an anomaly in the context of E6. I've read the 33 1/3 on it (great book series for music nerds, btw), and it
