Terrible episode.
Terrible episode.
EL&IC co-opts both 9/11 and the bombing of Dresden!
Hear, hear.
Is it weird that I know who Wendie Malick is but I had no idea she was on Just Shoot Me? Although, I can't think of anything she was in off the top of my head, either.
I really hate Pepitone from the WTF live podcasts, but I keep meaning to check out him on the episode of CBB with Patton to give him another chance. I still haven't gotten around to it.
@avclub-b0dae075785888267fc19871f3e7dab7:disqus Surely, there couldn't possibly be people on this site who deny that Hook is the Pan of movies.
I'm pretty sure the episodes were initially aired out of order with this one airing earlier than some episodes produced before it as well.
I doubt they'd ever even go off-model for a character like that these days.
A Charlie Brown Christmas
This time it's the uncut version airing in an hour timeslot, instead of the trimmed version forced into a half-hour timeslot which also aired on ABC last week (Dec. 5?).
Yeah, but the Golden Globes were probably the only ones who were going to nominate him. Let him have this moment.
Albert Brooks was actually nominated!
When are they going to make a CGI Chip n' Dale: Rescue Rangers movie on the back of all this chipmunkmania? Hollywood needs to put Fat Cats everywhere in their place.
Most of the comments in The Simpsons are people telling Hayden Childs how he wrote a recap when he should have written an actual review.
Yeah, I was reading through the comments to see if anyone caught that as well. Not-particularly-funny referencing of that film through having Homer as a grandfather who doesn't really know his two grandsons take those grandsons on a wild adventure through the city all set to Paul Simon's "Me & Julio Down by the…
But when it just says things like "Krusty the Clown has turned into Andy Rooney", it does not help. That thing is not funny itself. Did Krusty say something funny? Was their something funny about the context like Bart saying he was the funniest person alive beforehand? What?
I forgot I've listened to all of those before I tried non-Community cast episodes of The Nerdist and realized I didn't find Chris Hardwick & friends interesting on their own. (The no-guest episodes are downright unlistenable.)
Yeah, that was great. And great adlib save by Gillian Jacobs. (Is this the reason she's the only one I ever see guest on podcasts? i.e. CBB, PodFT)
Was that just how the '78 version ended? I don't remember much about the '93 one, and I think I remember the '56 one ending with Kevin McCarthy warning me that I was next.
This shouldn't spoil anything since I believe it's in the trailer and, if not, the first scene of the film: Mark Strong plays neither Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Poorman or Beggarman. Of course, there are other bad guys, but Strong cannot be the title Spy.
Even in a film like There Will Be Blood where he doesn't have a lot to do, Hinds is a great, steady presence.
