Britt is completely ready to settle down. Katie has a textbook defectiveness complex. She acted out against her developing commitment with Britt by sleeping with the professor. She's sure she's worthless, so she just can't have anything good.

The reporter reminds me of Charlotte Rampling (Zardoz, Angel Heart).

Leaves fall in SoCal. It's just not a color explosion like on the East Coast. (Sycamore leaves turn brown and fall off, and they're HUGE.)

Oh frig!

If I recall correctly, it was partly about timing. Joan and Roger's affair ended in season one and then Joan got engaged to Dr. Tool. Roger started up with his secretary and then got a divorce and married her. She was never his first choice.

Bonnie and Clyde capered about in the deepest regions of Ur-Space when the great god Cthulu was but a mere spawnling

Would Dwight ever *not* have a knife?

Yeah, I cringed back in horror when I saw the preview for this (it was before either Toy Story 3 or How to Train Your Dragon). Ugly, odd, horrifying owl faces, deeply disturbing, in ENORMOUS closeup. DO. NOT. WANT. I am not taking my kids to this abomination. (Plus, the preview gave away that one fine knock-knock joke

Yeah, I was confused too — I thought the blimp had done a Battlestar Galactica "jump" or something, and I spent part of the next scene kind of thinking back and concluding that, no, they don't do that.

Duffles?

Also, don't skimp on the scorn. Plus there's always derision!

the AV Club's office hours
Apparently no one comes in to the office before, what, 10:45 a.m.?

Winter parallax view condor, uh, etc.
I don't know. I liked the credits, and then they gave us Miranda Richardson for a minute. The rest just seemed like a lot of cheap shorthand and setup. And I've seen all those paranoid conspiracy movies from the 70s. It gets pretty tiresome how in every instance the

Betty White as the cat lady, I think.

THEY! LAID! DOWN! the LAW!

Yes, Sayid's voice sounded very strange to me; I rewatched that scene several times, but it wasn't clear that it sounded like anyone *else* in particular.

It's not entirely clear that the bomb caused the island to sink, although that does seem to be the simplest explanation. Also, if Chang's arm got hurt in the incident, and he went on to star in the training videos, is there (still?) a timeline in which the bomb merely caused the incident but did not sink the

Lemon's unfortunate hair
Is Liz Lemon's current haircut - which I think was part of her horrifying transformation in preparation for 'Dealbreakers' - SUPPOSED to look so unflattering? Jonathan hissed "nice haircut!" at her sarcastically, which leads me to think so.

I loved the 2-second transformation of Jenna's face from "insincere condescension" through "shocked horror" and into "fiery rage" just before the nosebleed.

It didn't seem so bad in the opening shot, when it was just hair and some sparkly gold business. Then it suddenly became obvious that she was wearing shorts. Shorts! Sparkly gold shorts!
