I'd say Eliana is way better than Melanie. She has better technique,and can actually dance outside of her genre (and beautifully at that), I really wish sytycd would bring back ballet as a style of choreographed dance, just for Eliana.

I feel like because Cole knows so many styles, but chooses to use his martial arts fusion style is what makes him a gimmick dancer. Cyrus is just doing another style of hip hop, and we've seen similar styles on the show before (pacman), with Cole we haven't really seen anyone with a style similar to his.

I'm also slightly surprised that the judges didn't point out the terrible song choice. It's hard to get the right kind of sexy chemistry for a ballroom dance, when you're dancing to a bubblegum pop song. I found it weird how Lindsay didn't have a solo. She's definitely not better than Eliana, and she's not much above Amber to be automatically safe. She also has yet to have a standout routine, I don't see what the judges see in her.
