Theon, Tywin, Cersei, Jaime, and the Hound, maybe even Joffrey, maybe even Arya, have all had their sad and evil moments, so I'm not sure why it's important that Stannis be so clearcut.

Right. Stannis has had nearly infinite opportunities to take Shireen to safety, somewhere, anywhere, yet always insisted upon bringing her with him. This was always a possibility in the back of his mind.

Or, in a more charitable reading to the show, perhaps it's marking a change in his character. Whereas everything horrible he's done in the past Stannis has been able to rationalize away in terms of law, procedure and duty, he must now acknowledge his actions as the naked pursuit of ambition and power.

For some reason, I thought that the conversion to the Red God happened much more recently than Shireen's recovery (which had to have happened when she was a toddler, right?), but I'm not sure whether that's valid.

Nice pic change

It's called greyscale, not dragonscale

tried to kill a child in the first episode of the series

Just realized that as soon as Stannis bites it, the closest living thing to a Baratheon on this show will be Gendry.

Fencer-killing

Janos Slynt, good call

What ever happened to Sean Bean? I liked his character!

I watch Throne Games when I have some spare time, but I'm not that into it

I never knew until this moment I wanted Jon Snow, Davos, and Tormund Giantsbane in charge of a wildling army.

4 seasons. Dragons weren't really a thing the first season.

At least we can all take relief in the fact that Shareen was denied the seduction part of the full Gendry treatment.

Oh damn, is Jaqen about to become a full-fledged villain?

This season so far: Mance Rayder, Ser Berristan Selmy, Maester Aemon, Shareen Baratheon, Hizdahr zo Loraq. Anybody I'm forgetting?

At least one Bolton and possibly a Tyrell
