The Grinch and DaVinci Code make a pretty strong indictment, among others.  There is something very self-congradulatory about him, as if he is playing at being brilliant and forcing lackeys around him to do the same, but he is in reality very, very plain.

I have never been much of a Martin Short fan.  All the same I liked his turn on A.D. as Uncle Jack.  I thought he delivered an eccentric, over the top character exactly as needed.  That's just me, I guess.
