I don't know.  Every time they do that sketch, they have Hader as Buckingham, and Thompson's character is always upset that he never gives Buckingham the chance to speak, despite him leaving other important engagements to be on the show.

When he did his first two songs, I was asking myself "Paul, why aren't you singing Wonderful Christmastime?!"

He is consistently the highlight of that sketch for me.  I love how he jumps into frame when the music starts, I love how keeps up that energy throughout the number, and I love how he walks out when the song ends.
