As far as I can tell, none of the characters are named for actual Weathermen. But Wiki says Redford's character (Jim Grant) ends up in Albany, so I guess he's a surrogate for Jeff Jones, who lives there and works as a consultant. (I met him once or twice, but not in any kind of way that would cause him to remember me.)
