Pulp has two and a half perfect albums, and several perfectly good ones. Every album Blur made inside of "Leisure" and "Think Tank" (those being their weakest two) are flawless, or damn near close. It's not really a comparison to me, Blur for sure.

After Coxon left, they became just another good britpop band. He was always the factor that pushed them above other like-minded single-worded bands of the era (Suede, Oasis, Pulp, James, etc).

I'm in the camp that "The Universal" is one their most powerful ballads (snuggled next to "Best Days", "Tender" and "No Distance Left To Run"), so closing a show with it sounds like pure bliss to me.

Holy shit, I thought it was impossible to hate "Country House". Wasn't everyone in agreement that it was the most effective Kinks rip-off single of that whole britpop movement?
