I think it's pretty unanimous that seasons 2 and 3 are brilliant. Going back and watching those episode after seeing these ones is clear how big the gulf in quality has gradually become after these past few seasons.

Season 2 and 3 were so strong. Season 4 and 5 were just okay. Well season 4 was mostly good until the crappy election stuff got in the way, and season 5 was just kinda meh all around. This season being lackluster didn't just come out of the blue.

Yeah the new plot lines and story arc aren't nearly as fun or interesting, but even if they did that Will Forte Twilight episode now there's no guarantee it would be as good as the original. The writing was just much sharper back then , both in jokes, story construction, and character. They've settled into their

Sadly though according to that link above…the cast and crew hope this is only the halfway point of the series. That is a scary, scary thought.

Ha yeah, or farted.

Hayley: Yeah, they pump in pleasant smells to make you happier and want to buy things
Roger: You're such a cynic

Unfortunately I didn't catch this one til later so I missed the discussion here, but I agree, really fun episode that could have been perfect as a two-parter. Either way though, so many great lines and just a really interesting plot and atmosphere. I would also agree with the A-.

They knew not what they did…they just knew not.

You mean Tom Hardy Junior?

I'm still waiting on GUMBERCULES!!

It appears the re-design has revealed the AV Clubs true colors…

Parks and The Office trajectories have always seemed mighty similar to me, pretty much down to the season. Let's hope this show ends before it gets Office season 8/9 bad.

He's the Meg of P&R.

Parks season 6 may be marginally better than The Office season 6, but not really that much. Seasons 4 and 5 of both shows are about even (although I actually prefer The Office season 4, the Parks election stuff was dull as shit, and The Office had MSPC in 5, which was good). Seasons 2 and 3 of both shows are so

Chill out dude. The show is getting tired and the jokes are getting stale…it's ok, it happens.

American Dad's "Blood Crieth Unto Heaven" had Roger as Edna the maid smother a baby off screen, although it was a send-up of a really melodramatic stage play a la "Osage: August County".

Yay. American Dad. Yay.

sigh…I want a baby…

He didn't mean the girl…tater-tot fetish is a real thing.

Surprised Adam Reed is involved in this, as it does indeed sound like a steaming pile. Seems like FX could have CHOZEN a better series…right? guys?
