Now that was a great, subtle Dean loves Jeff joke. You think he's merely punishing Jeff and making him do something lame (or that Jeff would think is lame), but in reality Dean is assistant coach and just wants to see Winger half-naked and wet.

Really? It wasn't really played as a joke though.

What's curious to me though is that VanDerWerff seemed a little surprised about the whole Pierce thing, and he's seen the next episode. So you'd think if next weeks ep was dealing directly with Pierces death that he would have been expecting this episode to involve Pierce dying, but in his review it didn't come across

See, I felt that way about last weeks "Intro To Teaching" (and to a lesser degree "Repilot", but mostly because of the sloptastic writing). Well not all of it, but I do feel the uttery goofy A-minus riots and the Nick Cage stuff would have torn to pieces if it appeared in season 4.

Same, I found this episode FAR funnier and better-written in the joke department than anything from last season, and even last weeks two episodes. It wasn't wall-to-wall hilarious, but the jokes that were there worked better than they have in a while.

I personally thought it was funnier than last weeks showings, but then again I'm in the small minority who thinks the Nick Cage stuff was cringe-worthy and if it appeared in season 4 would be eviscerated by fans.

B+ from me. I really enjoyed this one and felt it was superior to the two showings from last week. I had some minor issues with it but twas pretty good, I say!

Fair enough…but I think it's worth returning to. Where it ended off with the wife poisoning her husband for the turd still felt incomplete…like there was more to THAT particular story/chapter in the Golden Turd saga (mainly as in what happens with the wife?).

Naw, I rewatch episodes from 1-3 all of the time, and they're leagues beyond any of the revival stuff. The writing was on a different planet - character, story, jokes. It's just not comparable to me.

Yeah but that was seven years in the future. We still don't technically know what happened with the actual story that got left off in the present day. And the bit in "Raptures Delight' was more of a fan-servicey nod than anything.

Pretty sure the writer was female. And while it's true there have been a few parodies this season, they've mostly been deviating enough to not seem like blatant ripoffs of source material.

That twist was genius.

Eh, we've already gotten two Francine episodes this season: Poltergasm, and Crotchwalkers. And as much as I love Francine, I don't need to see a ton of episodes of hers in a given season, just a handful. She works best as a supporting character.

Yeah, apparently asian dude from The Walking Dead will be one of the voice actors.

For whatever reason, my biggest laugh of the episode was the exchange at he hospital…the doctor says something like "I think you guys should leave and let him get some rest", then we see the family already walking out the door, but Stan turns and opens it to say "I'm sorry, what was that?"…"I was just saying I think

Yes, that was a wonderful comic set-piece. And the culmination with Roger saving everyone by having to do something in advance was great, such as having Steve putting on the bulletproof vest (as opposed to just moving).

It's a fun show, but I'm glad it got a second season on TBS, because that bodes well for American Dad. At the same time I hope AD doesn't run more than a season or two on TBS if the quality is drastically worse.

He always looks a bit heavier with his suit off.

Yeah, a bit odd. But then again, he was pretty incompetent. That's why Dr. Baby fired him.

Really, the Belcher finding a raccoon under their bed was better than the surreal absurdity of AD's final act? On what planet?
