Well let's face it, this site became primarily a Community circle-jerk for a while, and that kind of fawning will inevitably lead to a backlash of some sort. But that said, while it's obviously far from bad television, there is validity to the complaints about the slight change in direction the show took (it seemed to

Agree, he's a terrible character. I was catching the series again in reruns at the beginning of the fall, and for whatever reason my FOX affiliates hour block was playing a season 1/2 episode, then a season 3 episode after. Season 3 has a handful of undeniably strong episodes, but a lot of the times the quality

They also reminded me of those bar whores Roger takes home in his Persian disguise in "When A Stan Loves A Woman".

Unfortunately I think they didn't make one for this year, but I'm not sure why. I could have swore these eps were done (or at in production) before the ep was pulled last year, so maybe they just decided not to do one this year. Or perhaps production on an ep was still underway or in the early stages when it was

Yeah, it's a pretty meh episode, although I do enjoy the subplot, and think some of the stuff in Steves fantasy world at the beginning is fun to watch. Definitely disappointing for a season finale though.

Yeah, that is a good point. Jeff making an appearance will definitely screw up the background arc thats going on right now. Maybe they'll put like a disclaimer at the beginning or something

Seems like everyone loved this bit the most, and while I liked it, at first I was a touch annoyed it was taking away from the story which I was genuinely enjoying. I did come around to it more though, and if anything it was worth it for Stans "separate beds, but you know…" line at the dinner table. I also kinda just

Yeah, there's a great Guttenberg bit in "Delorean Story-an";

This one should be great…it's not only a musical episode, but a continuation of "For Whom The Sleigh Bells Toll", along with the always fun idea of Krampus. Let's just say it's been a long wait.

Yeah, it was hard to fathom how such a genius episode couldn't be graded in the A-range. Thankfully, there is justice in the (TV Club) world.

Steve has had his moments. He sold all of his toys to pay for Snots Bar Mitzvah, remarking something along the lines of "everyone has to grow up". That's kinda why "Toy Whorey" was a disappointing episode for me (even if there's some good stuff), because they totally forgot about his character development there.

Well, Rogers aged several years in the show. Both "1600 Candles" and "Great Space Roaster" have him turning 1600, and 1601, respectively. Also, I know Steve turned 15 in "Virtual In-Stanity", but I'm not sure if that's stuck.

You should totally go back and watch the earlier seasons man, they're brilliant. I'm really enjoying this season and have liked all of the seasons (I don't think it's fallen off, just maybe not as consistent, and like any show sometimes struggle for fresh story ideas after almost 10 years) but for me the pinnacle of

Yeah, I would give it a B+. Not as funny as most of the episodes before the Thanksgiving disappointment, but this succeeded in other areas. It's great to see Hayley/Steve episodes, and especially them working together, and I thought the story in particular was the highlight of the episode, which was really

Shocking isn't it. And next week too! It's like some sort of record. Although they have like 23 episodes to burn through before the TBS run starts, as I'd imagine FOX doesn't want any holdovers from their run airing there.

Yeah Stan had nothing and no one to play off of this week. He was kinda sorta paired with Klaus (and I did like the somewhat callback to Vacation Goo with him and Klaus wanting to watch sports together) but even then not really. This just needed another angle or dynamic to be interesting.

Yeah, I just managed to see this and what struck me most is not even the racist jokes or random Peter Griffin-ish gags for Stan but rather the boring, go nowhere plot. This show utilizes some of best plot twists and generally tells its stories in cool ways (even thinking back to the very last episode we got a nice

Yeah I dunno exactly what Callaghan showrunning duties have been, but the news articles on it say that Barkers exit leaves Weitzman the sole showrunner for the TBS run which only just started production. Its also stated that Barker took a short hiatus during this season, and I think might be when Callaghan stepped in

I assume you mean Family Guy…and I think the pre-cancellation seasons are pretty much the only good ones. The show lost it's humor and wit very quickly in the revival seasons and became obnoxious and overly random. I still enjoy those early episodes and find them genuinely well-written and funny, can't say the same

I didn't see this one, but allow me to quote the review:
