Iggy's great
He's had an admittedly shaky solo career but he's way smarter than people give him credit for and his knowledge of blues, jazz, and early american music shines through a lot in interviews. Based on that, I figure he can pull this kind of thing off pretty well so I'm glad phipps agrees. Not sure about

Does anybody remember
Pappy Drewit? I think that's how it was spelled. Pretty sure it was on PBS and this old man lived in the woods, talked to a dwarf, and eventually taught kids how to draw at the end of the episode. You could also submit artwork that he would put in some weird animated art gallery. He said things

Bonie, the dinosaur skeleton, from weinerville is my favorite television personality ever. "I'm bonie, i'm bonie, leave me alonie." Awesome.

Probably best not to remember that one.

cigarettes and scotch: cool or the coolest?

If sales are down, things might look up once Up is released down under.

It's basically Van Driessen instead of Tom Anderson and a shitty theme song instead of an awesome one.

Queens of the Stone Age
are in this movie. They are wearing afro wigs. Enough said.

hey, hey, hey teo. let's not bring Tom Waits into this.

If only I had decimal points growing up to convey how I felt about pop punk. Thanks pitchfork!

Bad Brains!

I know the simpsons has done everything but they did the celebrity song thing with Sting and some others like 15 years ago. It was about saving a boy who fell in the well after bart tricked the town with a walkie-talkie.

Paperboy 2 is one of the best things that ever existed. The world needs another Paperboy!

I like the new album but it sucks that they haven't been playing the old stuff at any of the recent shows. It seems like if the new stuff is dull on its own and the old stuff is grating on its own, it would make sense to find some sort of medium live.

Your friend's comment is awesome. I don't know why, but I imagine your smartass friend looks and talks like Richard "Boner" Stabone from "Growing Pains," and the image of him saying that to a.c. slater just gets funnier and funnier.

At least we can all agree Oprah is pure evil. That's important.

Lexicondevil, I realize now this is simply a difference of opinion that we can't resolve. I might understand your point about Jack Benny doing things Seinfeld did years before but I still think Seinfeld was undoubtedly innovative. I just think you need a certain sense of humor to enjoy it. Never in a million years

lexicondevil, how was "seinfeld" all there was at the time. the show was on during the 90s. there was plenty of other television to watch. Seinfeld just happened to be a great show, and one that was brilliantly written and original. If theres two shows that fought the good fight against bad, hacky tv, its early

"classy brew."
