As someone with the last name Jones, I appreciate this. If I heard someone say "Keeping up with the Jones" I can imagine being very annoyed.

I just wanna say this is the first season of The Americans that I'm watching live. One episode in, I feel pretty okay. I binged the shit out of the first three though, and I'm not a huge binge-viewer of things.

That conversation was the only levity in the whole episode. I actually laughed.

I fucking love "Candy." Got into the Stooges and Iggy's other stuff in late adolescence, but when that song dropped in 1990 it kind of set a path for my eleven year-old self. At 36, with some lost loves under my belt, I really lap up its bittersweet flavor.

I agree somewhat with the assessments put forth in the first couple of paragraphs, but for me this was still a B+ or A- episode. To each their own, and all that. Maybe I'm just sentimental and upgrade any episode in which Carol figures prominently.

I'm left wondering tonight about Hannah's deletion of all Fran's ex-gf pics from his phone. Is the show going to address it? Are we to assume that it was addressed somewhere offscreen since the last episode, exacerbating some of the tension between them tonight?
