I see the point of Sisko giving the speech so that Dax can give the same speech at the end but Dax doing it is one of the most embarrassing things I've ever seen on television. Terry Farrell does not have the chops to pull off something that even Avery Brooks (with his ACTING!) struggled with

Kudos on his commitment to his semi-meta character

I've watched the entire series through twice, which Vorta incident are you referring to? All I can think of is *SPOILERS* Worf snapping Weyoun's neck in S7

Thanks for this comment, I thought it was a video that I'd have to remember to watch when I'm not at work (and then forget forever), didn't even notice the slideshow buttons

That would have been a far, far superior Voyager 1st season: they get dumped in the delta quadrant by Q in front of a borg cube and have to spend the next 6 months to a year running and hiding from it. A bit like Battlestar Galactica.

Actually as someone who watched Voyager first then DS9, I initially didn't understand why there was so much tension between Feds and Maquis. "They got along just fine on Voyager so why are they pissed off now?"

I'd say it's definitely good as a way to get young people interested. I enjoyed TOS as a kid (before I could properly understand it) but as a jaded teenager who hadn't watched TNG, Voyager was a just enough to get me interested and explore the rest of the universe.

I'd seen later seasons but not the whole of DS9, I knew from Inquisition that Bashir spent some time in the intermnet camp but when Garak and Worf left without him I STILL didn't get the twist coming.

Seemed like another example of emulating the UK one too much. SPOILERS, same thing happens to the equivalent character in the BBC version

Despite understanding that it would take longer in America (political system more diffuse, TV seasons are much longer), Kevin Spacey is still nowhere near as quick and efficient as Ian Richardson's.

Attempting that has cost me 3 iPhones

I absolutely love the summary of how TV shows characters getting increasingly frustrated/tense: "we’re spared weeks of him getting frustrated, shouting at someone for no reason, and then punching his desk"
This is why I come to the AV club

Personally I like the choice, I've been watching a few series on Netflix over the last few months and before that I did it with DVD boxsets. Once we've started a series the Mrs and I settle into a decent rhythm of an episode or two every few days after work so we watch it quicker than the original broadcast but rarely

That would be an unexpected to Breaking Bad, if it turns out they're the same universe and the final episode of BB is the start of the zombie apocalypse. I'd imagine Walter White could be the Governor

Thanks for posting that, excellent read

I was going to ask, earlier, for someone who watches through the entire series do you tend to skip the credits or just leave it running?

There's a definite sense here, that I remember hearing on the extra DVD features, that the DS9 producers/writers were now in charge of the whole Star Trek universe after TNG ended and could therefore make much bigger and longer term story decisions. SPOILERS but the consequences for this two parter are huge and last
