I hate to kind of agree with you….but everything is so saccharine sweet and just overbearingly pleasant. There was never any tension or belief that she might not win. Ann is dating Tom despite him being an annoying asshole 90% of the time. Everything is just too neat to feel important after awhile.

"I See You Baby" does sound embarassingly dated, but "Superstylin" and a lot of their other stuff were very important to downtempo. I just think the heavy London stonery feeling to it all makes it feel more tied to the 90s.
