It didn't sound like your regular film-gun-with-silencer at all, I thought. It sounded more like a gun heard from about 30 yards away through a car window, i.e. softer and more muffled. I was actually impressed that they didn't make it sound beefier, as per normal Hollywood protocol, to milk the moment.
