IIRC, the story is that Boxleitner was at the White House with his wife while she was there lobbying for SAG. Karl Rove found Boxleitner and told him that B5 was a favourite among the White House staff and for Oedipus Bush personally.

I don't remember if anyone else was doing a Dax twitter feed, but speaking for the Dax/DS9 fake twitter feed I was doing, I just ran out of ideas.

I didn't say B5 had no appeal to normal people.  I just said it has much more appeal to anti-social misfits.

I think B5 fans have a reputation for being social misfits because B5 is the kind of series that will appeal to social misfits much more than it will appeal to high-functioning, normal, people.

I think the Bechdel test makes much more sense as a metric to evaluate the treatment of women in a broader volume of works (n >> 10) than as a litmus test for the quality of an individual work.
