Stupid chicks really put out.

Love is like oxygen.

Can I ask a merman? You know, like a male mermaid?

That's correct. I actually played a paladin once who strayed from his alignment and so the dungeon master said my character had gone into "alignment shock" and lost his paladin powers.

How about…
…art that has a lot of fans, and moreover, art that we "should" like because it's similar to other artists that we do enjoy, but we nevertheless have trouble getting into it?

I'm not a Romantic poet, but I play one with TB.

I like Chocolate & Cheese.

I like both the Beatles and the Stones, but I think when you compare the two bands in terms of their entire body of work, the Stones have a larger number of mediocre / forgettable songs. But the comparison is probably unfair, since the Beatles broke up in 1970.

Leonard Cohen. There's a giant and a great lyricist, whose songs nevertheless sound better when sung by somebody else.

There are a few examples of cities that are great cities, wonderful cities, but people for whatever reason turn into judgmental dicks/douches when praising said cities. Yeah, I sometimes find David Lynch a bit annoying. I can see how mindfucks have an appeal, but it's something you have to be in the mood for. If you're not, then it can come across as trying too hard, or as being weird for the sake of weird, or something like that.

It's just so overhyped. It was cooler when it was still underground.

and with an avatar like that, how can the ladies say no?

I believe it was a commenter at this very AV Club who pointed out to me that worshiping Grease is a white girl thing.

I like the Graduate, and I think the Mrs. Robinson seduction stuff is genius, but I agree with the commenter above who said that the romance with Elaine comes out of nowhere. I find the ending unsatisfying, but the first 50 or 60 percent or so is one of my favorite movies ever.

Monty Python is one of the important and influential pop-culture phenomena in the history of comedy, and their best stuff is brilliant, but if you actually sit down and watch all the TV series, you'll find that about half of it is kind of bleah and a little too random.

Speaking as someone born in 1974, not liking E.T. is inconceivable to me. But I guess it takes all kinds.

I love the Radiohead - NYC parallel.

I admire them, I think they're good songwriters, and I enjoy several of their tunes. I guess I just resent the way some people say "They're obviously the best band ever, and of course everyone of our generation thinks so."
