I'd recommend pretty much everything in S4 except 'The Unicorn and the Wasp' as worth checking out so you can eliminate that doubt one way or the other. Plus, as someone who started on Harry Potter at age 9 and followed it as live through to age 19, it may be that even someone who shares my taste for it may not be

Ironically, I took offence at what I assumed was a guy taking offence at something. Aside from the fact that I don't believe in taking offence at anything other than crime and discrimination…well I guess I now know what hypocrisy feels like. I think I'll go and have a shower.

I'm fine with people hating the episode; I always have been. I jumped to the conclusion that the reviewer was assuming the episode was deliberately screwing with him/her, because that's what F grades would be if I was giving them; I don't believe in failing people who want to succeed, which I think Davies does here. I

When I saw the F next to The Sound of Drums and the A next to Last of the Time Lords, I assumed that the reviewer had declared the episode to be a fail in and of itself unrelated to Last of the Time Lords. Seeing now that this is not the case, I admit that my loss of respect was based on something I mistakenly thought

There's an F in the grade system. I can gain a little respect back for the reviewer if A/F is an attempt to hedge bets on an episode considered partly awesome and partly offensive. But in that case I personally would award it a C-. Giving an F to anything, even if it's got an A next to it, seems to imply that the

I lost respect for the reviewer, not the review. And I apologise for having originally typed 'review' instead of 'grade designation' for what I gave a G to. I've corrected that.

Season 4 is quite possibly the overall greatest season of 2005+ Doctor Who. 'Get off' now and it would be somewhat like getting off Harry Potter after Chapter 15 of Prisoner of Azkaban.

Upon learning of the grade given to The Sound of Drums, I've lost a lot of respect for the reviewer. F grades should be reserved for TV episodes which are explicitly offensive/disturbing, such as the Dexter finale where he got away with it, and the HIMYM finale where the writers did mental time-travel

A brilliant couple of years for John Simm. Sam Tyler and an excellent Doctor Who villain. I have no other Masters to compare him to as I've not seen the pre-2005 series, but I love how convincingly he combines ruthless evil with childlike enthusiasm. 'It's a gas mask'. Well the episode is a gas. Sound of Drums,

I thought it meant 'a year is one of your human constructs'. Could be wrong of course.

Was your use of 'Lindsey' and 'Copley' a mistake, or were you pretending to misremember their names to illustrate your dislike, or did you actually misremember their names due to dislike?

Six words. 'I have till the rain stops.' Really hammers home the point: 'This is real. Anything can happen. Beware.'

As someone whose school made uniforms de rigeur until leaving, even if that was when you were 18, I always somewhat envied the attitude of characters in this episode to uniforms as something alien and ridiculous.

Even if he visits 1 an hour it could still take him close to 6 years to find the right one. I hope it's sooner than that.

I don't think my original post has the level of seriousness you think it has.

Mickey Rooney was a Hollywood fixture? Wow, that was brave of him, playing a match against the whole of Hollywood all by himself.

I keep telling you, he's 93 years old and he's dead.

"First: he's grounded. No leaving the house, not even for school. Second, no eggnog. In fact, no nog, period. And third, absolutely no stealing for three months." Any time Homer gets his study on/gets his half-moon glasses out, he says something for the ages.

Only recently did I learn that Lee Carvallo was not a real person. I was disappointed.

Childress eh? Makes me wish I disliked this episode, then I could claim it made me go on a "FUCKIN' HUNGER STRIKE!"
