In my experience they said the mass. Depending on the type of parish, whether they had a school or a University community, they'd do different things as well.

Are Anglican Bishops required to make visits to their parishes? I imagine in large diocese it works differently, but as a Catholic (albeit one who'd been in a small diocese most of my life) I would be surprised to not see the local bishop at least once a year.
