You know I've heard the "reversed polarities" thing about Skylarking for years. What does that actually mean? Is it like when you get the positive and negative of your speaker cables reversed?

Hey, thanks guys. I'll have to check out the TR version, because the other is a soft-rock tour de force. How much softer does it get? None. It gets none softer.

That's not the same song as the England Dan and John Ford Coley one, is it?

Really? I don't think it's that odd at all. He said he made a ton of money doing production, so he got to record anything he wanted—he was pretty much living the dream for a musician.

Uh… sure.

Actually "Buffalo" in that instance is not an adjective. If you say "I am from Buffalo," the "from Buffalo" is a prepositional phrase that acts as an adverb. But "buffalo" itself is the object of the preposition, which in this case is a noun.

He also drove a car with no license plate and treated pancreatic cancer with herbs.
He did lots of stupid shit.

Yeah, I've found the difference between 320 and 128 to be huge, and the difference between 320 and the original vinyl/CD to minimal. IMO, 320 is the way to go.

I literally thought someone Photoshopped Paul McCartney's face on to some random  20-something's head to approximate what his child might look like. I didn't realize that this is in fact a real person. Creepy.

Let me ask you: Do you really think it's that great? Look, it has it's moments—they all do—but there's a ton of crap, and honestly, there's 100 albums I'd rather listen to. If the band was just three random guys vs. two-thirds of the Minutemen, do you think you'd feel the same way about it?

Believe it or not, there's a name for that: Toggle case.

Finally, someone admits the truth: fIREHOSE albums just weren't that good. I loved the band live, and I'm going to see them in SF for the reunion show, but their albums were a absolute chore to listen to. The only one I ever listen to now is Live Totem, which is a) live and b) mostly covers.

I can agree with that; "brick" is a bit much.

In other words, she's good at speaking in her normal tone of voice and reacting to dialogue with standard human emotions, such as facial gestures.

I think it's a very apt description. Look, my attraction to Katic borders on fetish, but let's call a spade a spade: She can't act.

I got all kind of shitty on SN Hoptimum. Much better beer, equally miserable hangover. At least you spent less money.

Yeah, no kidding. I'm waiting for the ad where they take off the guy's blindfold and he screams "What the FUCK!" as he starts blindly firing off rounds with his handgun.

Yeah, but even for Castle, this was a bit much. They're in the middle of an interrogation for a case in which five people were killed, and he derails it with a bunch of snarky comments because he's pissed at Beckett? I think Castle has always shown compassion for the victims of these crimes, so to suddenly say, "screw

Hey, just asking the question. Although, it really wasn't irony for irony's sake, it was irony to make a point and done in a way that the point could reach a large audience; I think a few more heard this than Alien Ant Farm.

I think people in their teens and 20s are really susceptible to that "secret band" mentality. I know I was; I never bought ANYTHING on a major label and seethed when one of "my" bands became popular and "they" started listening to them.
