It's Carl Orff 's "Gassenhauer"…I think?, great piece of music. That guy was a fucking genius. Hans Zimmer rewrote it as the theme to True Romance.

Antonio Fargas…..
I ran into Antonio Fargas at a George Carlin show in Milwaukee back in…I think '98. He was gettin' some suds at the bar before the show and seemed genuinely surprised to have someone recognize him and reach out for a hand shake…and begin to talk to him. He was cool as fuck. Awesome guy, said he was…
Ageed, I'd go as far as to say since what…Blade Runner? I would love to see him really deliver as he once did.
It's his brother's influence I blame.
I would love to see…
Bruce Dern, Harry Dean Stanton, M. Emmet Walsh, Michael J.Pollard and Yaphet Kotto all fightin' it out for a best supporting actor oscar two years from now.
Fully agree, James has a great album to deliver yet. I would love to hear something more or less melodicly driven, or even downtempo by him again, you know he's just sittin' on a fucking mountain of material. I would say the same about Mike Pardinas as well.
R.I.P. Dede Allen
Just found that out a few minutes ago, sa. And as she and Lumet I'm sure would agree, "let's forget The Wiz happened".
Good call. Incredible book. And I would add a number of works by McLuhan, obviously starting with 'The Medium is the Message' ('Understanding Media: The Extensions of Man')
Aphex Twin…on record and live.
I'd really have to say James. Hearing his SAW Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, right around the same time, just as Vol. 2 was released…'94, I was just truly floored by those records. And then later seeing him in '95 open for Bjork, just amazing. Andy Kaufman with records.
This thread is awesome.
Yeah, I must be old as fuck. Remember when the video for "One" premiered? I remember watching that live. People were throwin' parties around that shit. Like it was a goddamn Tyson fight.
Yeah, I remember being a kid, maybe 11, 12? And just being totally amazed at seeing these huge works by Chuck Close or Rauschenberg. From that moment on I realized photos in school books just weren't gonna cut it. As a matter of fact, they're insulting.
Agreed. Amazing set of his, a true turning point. I saw him on that follow up tour, and I remember just being in total fucking awe.
Yeah, i'd have to say Night Flight was fucking huge. (On USA right?) My brother and I stayed up every Saturday night for that. Between issues of Creem magazine he was bringin' home and that show, forget it.
'Fantastic Planet' Hell yes I remember it!
'The Kentucky Fried Movie'
'Rude Boy'
'J-Men Forever'
'Another State of…
Fully agreed.
"Somebody sneek up behind him! Somebody end this now! He's thinking about me!"
The Obsolete Man
The Midnight Sun
The After Hours
Nothing in the Dark
Agree, but i'd have to say A Penny For Your Thoughts, Mr. Dingle The Strong, Once Upon a Time and even moments of the the Ed Wynn episodes, solid.
C'mon…that Debbie Downer sketch….
Didn't this chick know better? Tons of personality, charm, chops. Shame on someone? Outside Mom and Dad…. Tina Fey? It's just sad. I blame Fey…way to go Tina.
Have to disagree, this record blows Upping St. away. "V. Thirteen" and "Sightsee MC" I'll give ya, but no, that record was and is a bit of a let down.
