yes and let's not forget that Tony is essentially breaking something that he gave to AJ in the first place.  I don't think that being physically abusive to a kid is ever justified, but sometimes a little "tough love" is the only way to get through to a douchebag like AJ

yeah I agree with Arite and Charmaine, and Angie.  Beansie is an interesting argument.  Little Carmine doesn't end in a bad place either.  Also there's minor characters like Hunter who ends up in med school or whatever.

I apologize in advance if someone has already mentioned these, but I'm at a conference this week and don't have time to read through all the comments before posting, but on this rewatch I noticed some pretty interesting cuts between the Vito storyline and the Carmela in Paris storyline which had to be intentional.
