There's that and the fact a good chunk of the commentators are boring as sin themselves. I can completely understand if someone trying to understand the appeal of the NFL (or perhaps baseball, to further my upcoming point) gets completely shut down by droning commentary, lack of simple explanation of the game and lots

It's just not relevant. I'm not sure how to fix it, but perhaps just a low-impact skills competition? Maybe a year in review? The game itself just isn't needed, especially with the spike in injuries.

I'll side with the article, even though it was a tad mean-spirited. I really do think people need better things to do than to riff on a super-popular thing they don't enjoy.

The Thumbs have gotten far more niche in their game choices, but I chalk that up to the fact all three main hosts (and Nick) have wildly different careers now. (When it started, Chris was at Gamasutra, Nick at ShackNews and Jake was lower on the totem pole at Telltale. Look at them now.)

What information are you getting this from? MOST people who funded the new version don't like it? I funded Idle Thumbs and I honestly don't hear a difference except for narrower game focus, which makes sense considering the three main hosts have radically changed their career focuses these past few years. And since

I just don't have patience for in-your-face libertarians, which is why the many good things P&T have done just fall short to the fact I want Penn to shut the hell up. Sorry, but I think it's completely crazy if you expect a very, very old document to stand the test of time and be EXACTLY by the letter. The

    You are boring. Go away.

Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong. Kids' movies DO NOT HAVE TO BE BAD. That's an incredibly insulting attitude to have. I'm not suggesting all family films have to reach Pixar's level of insane detail and imagery, but perhaps they need to stop being soulless cash grabs. Great family movies have heart, they actually CHALLENGE

Kidding or not, those would probably be fun bonus episodes. Or maybe two movies in one episode?

    Cowards.

I wouldn't say that. There's also this idea that being "proudly ignorant" is a badge of honor and that people need to just leave us alone because we know how to "take care of ourselves".

Civics education is at an all-time low, it seems. What's worse, this…or that viral voicemail from someone tossed out of a Alamo Drafthouse claiming her First Amendment rights were ignored because she had her cell phone on?

I mean, let's not dwell on the fact that Captain Obvious came down to tell us that these folks are stupid, ignorant assholes. I'm more offended by the merchandise. Not as much the sheer quantity of it all (though that's depressing on its own!) but the "catchphrases". Any single item with a Duck Dynasty logo on it

Punk is in the weird position where he isn't "the guy", but is untouchable enough (and financially secure) that he can quietly rip WWE without getting into trouble.

Yeah. She's a tad crazy. Though if I was dating who she apparently is dating, I'd have to be crazy too.

I'll reveal myself as a wrestling fan here, so heads up.

Anyone secretly wish that Survivor could be sacrificed so The Amazing Race could regain its luster and be really good again instead of just "watchable"? Yes, different producers and such, but I'm not sure how reality TV works.

A baseball bat? Man, at least use something that could guarantee a clean takedown!

I really like this show, even if the casting has become really slanted toward "celebrities" or straight-up recruits. The current season has been…okay, though I wish they'd seriously stop casting blatant villain teams.

See, that moment was funny…if kind of sad. That's the type of "hopelessly out of touch" I can enjoy. (Plus, the e-mails absolutely destroyed him.) But the smartphone stuff…I suppose that digs into a nerve on how impatient I am with people not even attempting to try new things.
