NPR and PBS have money to pay for shows they produce themselves; in NPR's case, the money goes further because the costs are lower, so they're able to produce more original programming.

JCVD is always fisting my heart.

Believe me, as much as I love Louis C.K. and Lance Crouther, JCVD will always be first in my heart.

Yeah, there's pretty much no such thing as "PBS funding" (or "NPR funding," for that matter). In almost all cases, PBS does not pay to produce the shows that it airs; most of them are individually-funded, either through charitable trusts or corporate donations.

AV Club Newswire is my preferred method for hearing news about myself.

I work at night. Morning is when I read AV Club comments!

You're crazy. Kim only appears as a guest contributor in the first episode.

We actually discuss this in a Viewer Mail segment. Also: Willy Kurant! And: damn does Louis C.K. love him some New Wave.

Fun fact: when we first met, Christy and I (just to clarify: I'm Ignatiy Vishnevetsky, guys) bonded over our mutual love of Pootie Tang.

Man, I had the best self-referential firstie lined up for this.

Having been in the presence of Udo Kier a few times, I can certify that he is indeed a crazy person, and tends to interact best with people who are similarly crazy. Once stepped outside to find Kier talking very seriously with a deranged street-corner type.

You're pretty close on that plot twist.

My family tells me that they're able to watch it in Moscow, so I assume it's streaming everywhere.

Too little, too late: I don't think "all TV characters are types." I'm not sure of Christy's opinion on the matter, but I was referring more to John Wells' particular TV background, which was with ER.

A nickname mostly reminiscent of what the boss at my first job used to call me.

I wear neither a blazer nor a vest in the first episode. This trend continues in next week's episode.

Yeah, Season of the Witch is actually fairly un-insane for a January Cage picture, but I like its unfettered simplicity and the watered-down-Howard-Hawks dynamic between Cage and Perlman.

I don't like this proposal one bit.

Believe me: my hair does not feather beautifully.

I'm not sure. As you could see from the clip used at the end of the first episode, the production company has access to the WTTW-era tapes, but I'm not sure what's going to be done with them.
