A growler of Pliny the Elder?! I would weep with joy at the very sight of such a thing.

Car Talk was a life advice show that was barely concealed as a show about auto mechanics. My favorite was a bird biologist who lived on one of the bird nest islands off California and called by satellite phone because the car engine that the biologists used to heat their shower water had died. In the midst of expected

I Netflix binged on like six seasons of this show when I first started. It was so much more fun that it had any right to be. Looking back at the plot summaries for the first season, I'm amazed at how "small" all the stories were; the season finale of the first season was still about finding the dad, and by the 9th,

OK, I need to speak up here since Asian Bistro shouldn't even be mentioned in the same category as "DC Japanese restaurants." DC sushi on a whole is pretty dire, esp compared to standards on the West Coast, but let's not pretend it's remotely possible to get decent nigiri at one of the Asian Fusion restaurants that

The mention of The Glamorous Life reminded me of Sheila E's American Music Awards performance. So 80s, so awesome. https://www.youtube.com/wat…

The eradication of smallpox was such an amazing accomplishment for the human species that I think all day everyday we should all go around saying "Hey, what about kicking the snot about that smallpox!" and high-fiving each other.

My knowledge of Japanese literature is a bit lacking, but isn't naming Tanizaki as the best Japanese writer of the 20th century a bit ballsy? And the lack of anything from Kenzaburo Oe? I haven't read those two female writers at all, so I'll take those as recommendations.

Apparently there are a bunch of us. I haven't run or played a campaign since a group of friends did a round robin of AD&D 2e, Call of Cthulhu and Twilight 2000 2.0 (I'm very old), but I still read rulesbooks for games. Hell, I buy Bundle of Holding bundles just to have more rulesets to browse.

Can you spoil what the "Stone Things" that power Urshanabi's ferry are? Please? I must have missed that episode.

I had no idea this was the same guy as Let The Right One In, which was an astonishing-looking film. Totally stoked!

'S'mofo butter layin' me to da' bone! Jackin' me up… tight me!

I really like how the initial outbreak in World War Z was Chinese government secrecy, blackmarket organs infecting patients, and deluded family members smuggling infected across borders. The fake science of zombies would be vague handwave, while Brook's speculation on how humans would react to zombies passed the smell

Only two? If Discovery wanted to help the public, they could move all of Congress to a deserted island and tell them that the cameras were "hidden."

I come from a background where every family gathering involved a platter of sashimi, and where poke was a common snack. It hurts my head to think that some children grow up without their parents sticking raw tuna down their gullet as toddlers.

I think Techies is the 108th hero. Why you'd try to rush through at least 45 hours of gameplay, assuming you win every game, is beyond me. I wonder if some Dota players are having any fun at all.

Yah, the "satellite rush" is mandatory for higher difficulties, and is much criticized for being a boring meta. And if you survive the first four months, it's gets boring again, esp in Enemy Within, when invisible. super speed, wall jumping supports are spotting for snipers across the map. I'm still hoping for an

Astrophysics black guy, Hayden Planetary fly.

All-wight, I'm a-ghast at this wisp of a thread.

The last time I was in an accident I was test driving a used dealership car when I got rear-ended at a red light. The dealer couldn't believe it; he'd been at the job 30 years and never been in a fender bender. If you have to be in an accident, I highly recommend this option. You're not at fault, it's not your car,
