I loved how Lane's death hung over this entire episode, but he was never mentioned by name just "him", it seems a very Mad Mannish thing to do.

Exactly, I know he works with them but I never saw him with these guys outside of work, now they're all defending his honor and shit, and besides hadn't Jess and Hoyt already broken up when she fucked Jason…I mean I know it was only like two hours after the broke up but technically, Jason is not a girlfriend fucker.

I never hated Tara, I just wasn't very interested in her storyline. You're right though she does get the shit piled on her and it does get tiresome how Sookie always has people falling over themselves to help her out, but Tara seems to be on her own most of the time.  With that said I hope she gets to be a kick-ass…

I agree that a lot of shows and movies have done this to ill effect, but I think that with Juan his fall had been a long time coming, the opium just quickened his descent.
