Fair Extension was funny, but it wasn't really surprising or terribly original. 1922, on other hand, was a terrifying tour de force. Easily the best novella in the book.
I also usually dislike King's endings and I thought Under the Dome was one of his better ones. I'd have to say it's his best book from the last couple years.
