Aw, PSH would've been a good Uncle Ben, too…
Yeah, but it's still kind of a stretch. "We'll need a Norse God, a man in a billion-dollar weapon suit made of iron… and that kid with acne that can stick to walls. Avengers Assemble!"
Not of that movie.
They could even say the new hacker wrestler stole Sami Calihan's identity. See? Relevant.
Whoever the head of the AVClub is will be getting many an awkward text this morning…
Eh, it's been long enough I doubt there's bad blood. They got picked up immediately by Sci-Fi. And didn't they at least get seven or eight years on CC?
If it does I guess the show runner can tell FXX… "you're the worst."
His first two specials are pretty flawless though.
Start with his first standup special. This book is a lot drier than I think people were expecting.
I could see him passing Bill Hicks easily.
Yeah it went by surprisingly quick on my Kindle. I'm also cool with the lack of emphasis on humor, since I always had the impression it'd be a pop-science type book like Freakonomics, but with slightly more jokes.
When Marvel eventually reboots Cap after Secret Wars, I hope that a big part of the series is what it's like to go from 1945 to 2015. There's just too much dramatically and comedically they can do with that.
Does anyone know why we didn't get a review of Modern Romance? I pre-ordered it so it didn't really matter to me, but I figured the first book by a beloved comic would surely get a review.
What's weird is that, when Cap was first unfrozen, it was just 18 years later, right? Hell, he could still marry his wartime sweetheart and have kids if he wanted to.
Still say this guy should've gone over Andrew Whozit for Spider-Man back in 2012. Former standup comic, former writer, seems to keep in good shape, nerdy but hip, good-looking but not in a threatening way… dude was perfect. RDJ as Iron Man perfect.
Glover was in Magic Mike?!
To defend Georgia, I'm from there and never heard it be called "The War of Northern Aggression" or had pseudo history (pseudo science?) like that. Then again, I was in a suburb of Atlanta, and maybe I just got lucky in having interests in or maybe being born with progressive values.
How awesome would a gimmick be of someone that time-traveled from 1998?
I could totally see them signing Jay Lethal at some point. He only just turned thirty. I could also see the Young Bucks joining at some point. There's also rumors that they've had Chuck Taylor and Johnny Gargano work tryout matches.
