Fred is dead.  Spike has just decided to stay in LA because he feels that what he's doing with Angel is more important than being with Buffy, Angel has been over Buffy since at least "Fredless" if not "Sanctuary" when he told her to get out of his city and is now dating another woman…

My issue with it is that it just isn't funny enough to justify how out of character Spike and Angel act throughout the episode.

Yeah, TGIQ was a tonally inappropriate comic detour that sold out Spike and Angel's characters and intelligence for some cheap jokes.

But the protagonists of Korra are older than the Gaang (With the exception of Zuko), so they are more inclined to have those stupid problems no one cares about than Aang, Toph, Katara and even Sokka.
