Obviously Opie was going to die, but it doesn't mean this wasn't a great episode. The Tara/Gemma stuff really is awful though…

This show wants to be so much more bad ass than it is. Still very fun to watch, but it is far from one of the best shows on TV.  B+ rating for me. Hopefully this is better than the second season which I felt dipped in quality v. season one.

" I’d say for that reason alone she’s the show’s most watchable character, easy to care about even when she’s wrong."

Absolute perfection. Everything came full circle and Walt was out - his family, ego and financial future secure. But come on, did he really need to be undone by a fucking book? My only knock to an incredible episode.

Yeah the show never spells out exactly why Walt left but something big must have happened to leave the company you co-founded. And the show has made it clear that his loss of Grey Matter is a big motivation for not missing a "second opportunity" at being great at something. It really drives him - the "pay off" of the

Rogers - Yeah skyler was definitely saving her own ass. It just amazes me how seamlessly she broke the law for Todd but doing the same exact "book keeping" for Walt drives her into madness and isolation. And she just assumes he's this killing machine…ridiculous.

herald - the fact of the matter is we don't know where Mike was going…or for how long he planned on leaving. If all the money the lawyer was dropping off is now gone, Mike would have had to come back for his granddaughter. And I bet Jesse and/or Walt would be the two people he goes to for extra cash. That $5 million

"Walt knew full well he and Jesse were not cut out to be cogs in Gus's
ruthlessly smooth machine. Just like everything in this show, Walt got
himself into easily avoided trouble and had to improvise a way out
(while creating a different problem, like always)."

Exactly DYG, Mike was going to kill Walt one day. It was inevitable. Either to save himself or Jesse, one of them had to die.

The opening scenes with Declan and his crew were incredible. Edge of my seat stuff from Walt.
