I thought I was going to hate the new review style (Too much change- how apropos for this show- but also, Girls gets in-depth Todd but not Mad Men, WTF), but I don't. I really appreciate having a female voice covering Mad Men, plus I like The Americans reviews that are like this, so it's all copacetic.

Yeah, nobody talks when I watch Mad Men. Tbh, don't even walk through the room or turn lights on in an adjoining room if you can help it, thanks.

Yeah, her friends were those terrible, rich-girl teenagers who are too cool and worldly for anything real, and when Sally's dad got real with her she didn't have the patience for that bullshit.

Dude, no. You aren't up with the times. Betty that sleeps with Don and has breakfast with Henry the next morning while singing camp songs with Bobby is fucking awesome.

Her eyebrows are to die for (see: Cara Delevingne, Lily Collins, Lucy Hale, Madonna's daughter Lola, the Olsen twins, etc.). I stopped tweezing my brows beyond the strays in the middle and sides in 2007 and it was the best decision. I will never go back to thinner brows.

Oh, that they are: Marnie Michaels, Jessa Johansson, and even Shoshanna Shapiro all frolic along with Hannah Horvath.

I can not tell you how much I want to savor this tiny, fleeting moment when both Mad Men and The Americans are both on in the same week. It's like being hit with an awesome TV-as-art overload! It has to say something about my tastes that my two absolute favorite dramas are both mid-to-late 20th century period pieces.

Yeah, you automatically know Larrick's primarily a top even if you didn't see one of his encounters, but that didn't change my fear of his risk (otherwise vanilla straight dudes wouldn't get HIV and they do, even if anal and vaginal are more effective transmitters, plus, I'm sure he changes it up as the majority of

Yeah, really. I just wonder if he'll ever even know it before it's too late.

Yeah, that's probably too thorny a discussion and too much of a digression to get into on an Americans board, lol. I was just struck by the feeling that, despite all their unconscionable actions, Philip & Elizabeth must have still been doing something right because their kids both have strong consciences, and I have

Aw, so broken neck as well, no wonder she died so quickly after that. No hope for resuscitating her after that then!

Yeah, I noticed that they even put fake freckles on Elizabeth for that disguise. But they weren't done very well, because I love freckles and the ones she had were not flattering, more like sun damage. But at least when trying to describe them their fake facial markings would be one of the first things someone would

Except (and this obviously speaks to how deep an effect learning about the AIDS crisis had on my psyche and imagination) the first thing I thought when I saw Larrick rough-trading it under the bleachers his first episode was, "You're gonna get AIDS!" Like, visceral reaction: it's early '82, he's closeted, it's not

The whole Stan car scene was great, you can see him looking after Philip as he drives away envying his uncomplicated life as a travel agent with an awesome new car, and his frustration boiling over about his ever-worsening and complicated circumstances at his own shittier car. And unbeknownst to him the real reason

The second time I saw it the thing I kept thinking about was that Philip and Elizabeth are lucky to have a kid like that. Like all kids, he fucks up and even did quite a pretty seriously wrong thing, but he feels guilt and shame and remorse for his actions and honestly doesn't want to be seen as a bad person. I've

This whole question shows that I don't know what I'm talking about, and it is TV so the reality may not matter anyway, but I thought it took 6 minutes for the brain to die from lack of oxygen. Larrick didn't strangle Lucia for that long and he left right away afterwards, wouldn't it have been possible for Elizabeth to

Side note about sliding doors: that's why my mom always told me, when I was growing up and would see old pictures of my parents' house from before I was born that had a sliding door and would ask we our house didn't have one, that sliding doors suck. They always end up getting stuck, coming off the runner, the screen

That ending killed me, it was almost as good as last season finale's ending. Which reminds me, I need to see Sally. Betty, and the rest of the Draper-Francis's next episode (also Harry!). I'm so glad this show is back and I can not believe I won't be able to watch it into the summer this year, that really blows.

I wasn't sure I recognized him either. He looks a lot worse for the wear.

I know I'm definitely gonna be re-watching every episode at least a couple of times before the next season comes out. I wonder if it will be put up on Amazon Prime like a lot of Comedy Central shows seem to? Hope so! ♥ those bitches!
