You don't get this gimmick. Really, you don't? This is like one of the oldest gimmicks around here, see: reposted Youtube comments, reposted A7x comments. It's a joke. You can laugh at it, promise!
Yes. It was so much better that it was in Russian. I also felt like, if Elizabeth actually were dying, she'd speak Russian. That's who she is, and that's who she and Philip truly are, so I'm glad she communicated her most important feelings to him in that language.
Me too, it's what I thought. But she actually said "you'd crawl to Canada on your knees" which made it even better.
Yeah, I agree with this. I think he still loves her, but he's been hurt too badly, especially this last time, so he has walls up against her and has shut down his feelings for her. They're still there, so there's a chance that they could find each other again, but, from experience, if he pushes them away for long…
The overwhelming feeling I have when watching this show is sorrow. Even during a funny Clark/Martha part, I'm still sad. No one on this show is going to have a happy ending, right? I really love how in just 13 episodes this show has made me care enough about the characters on both sides that I wish they could all…
And what the shit kind of costume was Megan's character wearing? That maid outfit and wig looked as cheap as something you could get at some discount online Halloween store. Awful.
Oh, I like Phillip a lot. And I like Elizabeth. And Stan. And Nina. And I liked Gregory. I guess I'm not really team anybody, per se, I just really like this show and the characters. (I think I'm like that with most, though not all, shows I like.)
@avclub-a6a24889b5a204f69d48dff027111d15:disqus I can't believe you just referenced White Nights! That's secretly one of my favorite movies- Gregory Hines and Mikhail Baryshnikov are both equally excellent dancers of their genres, and dance movies are a weakness of mine.
Poor Gregory. I teared up. I really wished his character was going to be around longer. He was always so calm and confident, I wanted to see him be able to handle more shit. Also, yes, he was so handsome. Those pretty eyes.
Welp, at least in this episode, one of those to women you mentioned actually went on a quest to try to help someone else. They may have been motivated by her own deep-seated reasons, but the effort was made, nonetheless. I'll let you figure out which one did that.
Mad Men always has a hard time getting their fat suit whatevers right in the face area. It never looks real.
Well, while my comedic skills are probably on par with that pile of shit, I thought it would be pretty evident when I wrote it that the comment wasn't serious. I mean, that's a little over-the-top, even for an AV Club Mad Men fan. If I ever go straight to language that extreme for reals, even over the best TV show, I…
Yikes! I think 2 people's humidors (humor-doors?) are broken. Better schedule a repair, boys.
Uh …
Not reading the review yet, or the comments, but I just want to say, Todd, if you spoilered fucking Mad Men for me, I will come for you in the night. So help me god- you WILL curse the day you were born!
This was a hard episode to watch, in that it got really bleak really fast. Every time they cut back to that dismal industrial space where they were keeping the dying Amador, with those creepy pipe noises and bare lights, I cringed. Then they just dumped Amador in some shitty parking lot. Then Stan effing SHOT a like,…
Me too, on the slight James McAvoy resemblance.
Matthew Rhys is hot, and excellent on The Americans, which I love. That's all I have to say.
I kept trying to think of ways Chris might be able to make it out alive- I had no desire for the guy to bite it, he was cool- but after everything he'd seen and knew, I couldn't really see a way. Too bad I was right.
