    Your average record label would have:
    -Given her an "advance" well above $85,000
    -Forced her to pay back the advance by deducting it from her royalties
    -Failed to promote (or possibly even release) the album, thereby ensuring that she wouldn't break even
    -Deducted 10% of her royalties for "packaging costs", even

    My Favorite Part of Popless. . .
    . . .was the "Fits Between" items. They often put artists in a context that hadn't occurred to me. Thanks for that, and thanks to Noel for the whole project.

    You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

    To my ears, The Rhythm of the Saints is the great oft-forgotten Paul Simon "world music" album. Its textures are far more subtle than Graceland, but with a good pair of headphones and/or a quiet listening environment it will take you to some special places.

    I've heard it said that Meet the Spartans lost several billion dollars at the box office due to all the people who refused to go see it.

    The deleted scenes are mostly hilarious - at least as good as the film itself; especially the songs that were deleted from the final production of the musical.

    Yes, it was much wiser to leave his daughter without a father than to risk tainting his recorded legacy.
