Thank you so much, shumway. I'll see you on the HIMYM writeups when the season starts.

I have to agree — there would be a way for this show to get noticed by the cognoscenti, at least, because there would be TV writers furiously promoting it and haranguing the network to keep it on for prestige's sake.
On the subject of dealbreakers, Noel and I knew we were meant for each other when he made a reference to a sixties-era Peanuts cartoon and I finished his sentence.
Start over from the beginning, huh? If somebody would commit to doing that on their site or blog, I would read, for sure.
Thank you so much for leaving a comment, IHBG. What a wonderful feeling it is for me to have been the catalyst for some folks seeking out the show. And even better that this was a place you felt welcome. I'm really touched.
I haven't watched Fawlty Towers since college, but there would be no danger of my slagging it, I don't think. "Get A Life" is a wonderful idea — I love Chris Elliot, am the world's biggest Bob & Ray fan, and have never seen the whole run.
I did not catch that "salut" was a Bill reference. Well played, NewsRadio. And wonderful observation, Serious Poster.
As long as I didn't make you lose your job. On the other hand, you just made my day, so karmically, it all works out. Somehow. Thank you.
Great trivia connection, qd. I do enjoy the show very much — when it cooks in that old school way, it really cooks, and the actors are all terrific pros who are wonderful fun to watch.
It was really beyond my expectations that folks might be introduced to the show through the writeups; I expected to be preaching to the choir. So I'm especially happy to hear that such things have happened. Thank you, Driftmark.
For years, I thought your name was mallflower. Now I know it's wallflower. Here's your thesaurus.
You are right as confirmed by mad below. Fixed.
Ah, it wouldn't be NewsRadio TV Club classic without your help and your well-reasoned arguments, mad. I'll make the corrections and ponder your points, as always. Thank you for everything you've contributed to the series.
Wallflower, thank you so much. That is high praise indeed given the standard set by Noel's amazing work, which I am eternally glad I am not expected to crank out on a weekly basis.
That's such a nice thing to say, Barking Spider. (*checks off another item*) I've really worked hard to achieve that balance without killing what's funny about the show, and it's very gratifying to have readers who appreciate it.
You're right that the show's debt to older forms of comedy made it an oddball in the 90's when we were all deconstructing the very idea of that kind of thing. And I'd love to hear more discussion of the thesis that Hartman was the star of the show, although I can't bring myself to agree — breakout characters often…
I appreciate the kind words, Donkey Lips. *checks that sentence off my bucket list of "things I never thought I'd say"*
Both honor and pleasure have been mine, smm. I just ran across a comment of yours when I looked back at the "Office Feud" writeup to check something. Thanks for taking the journey with me.
I know you mean "DAAAAAAAAAAAAMN!"
I loved it so much when Jimmy later toasted the staff with a simple "Salut" and Joe said, "See?!", but I couldn't find a way to work it into the writeup. In any case, salut and thanks, Ronobot.
