Braugher's character has the decency not to be proud of it.

The first Johnny Johnson arc is much better, I completely agree, although I think Johnson himself never fails to be a source of happy amusement.

You make a good point, Tina, but I think I've enjoying writing up this season as much or more as previous ones with less problems. When writing about the most successful episodes (and this absolutely happens with ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT, which is why I'm glad Noel is doing it and not me), it becomes very difficult to do

I do love The Middleman. Middleman!

Absolutely — it's the Warburton-Foley contrast that really makes it go. Not just in their physiques, but in the way they move.

I mention it partly to find out whether men taking their shirts off = hilarious to other people. Whether it's matter-of-fact or an attempt to be sexy, I always dissolve into helpless giggles. And no, it doesn't matter whether the chest in question is attractive or not. It's just so shameless.

I don't look at the site analytic data week to week, but I'll ask Noel what our hits look like, since he gets a report.

It's a good idea, maybe for a blog post or FOC piece. Thanks for bringing it back up.

Thanks, Potter. Glad to have you along.

Appreciate it, Louis.

Life is good on the Breaking Bad beat, I can't deny it.

I admit, I'm lowballing it just a tad. Have to allow the season some room to top itself. No complaints at all about the episode.

I got a good look at the logo just now while watching the next episode, and realized my mistake. I'll fix it.

+1

Yep, Blackout Thursday, back in the glory days of the NBC Thursday night lineup. Paul actually caused the blackout on MAD ABOUT YOU, FRIENDS participated, and SEINFELD totally ignored it. I don't think there was really any cross-referencing though … they were just in the same blacked-out NYC.

Oooh, was it VIVA LAUGHLIN!-related?

Everybody can stop looking — we found the guy who wrote his dissertation on the cultural relevance of Bon Jovi.

There are still occasions when some of the CSI folks show up in each others' cities, aren't there? And of course, just a few years ago the Law & Order franchise used to cross over its folks all the time.

It was Bon Jovi. Ironically enough from the perspective of 2011, where only one of the cheesy hair bands he names has retained cultural currency.

I can see that I was the only one who thought Jess was lost at sea in his routine. I was mentally comparing it to Sasha, who had such powerful and meaningful stillnesses a couple of weeks ago.
