Thanks, Bucky. I have to cut them back or I'll never be able to maintain the week to week pace. I trust y'all will pick up on anything I have to leave unrecapped.
I enjoyed EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND for several seasons. There's no shame in appreciating it, especially since Romano has proven himself to be an incredible actor in the superlative MEN OF A CERTAIN AGE.
A Jimmy James Robot Army commendation for staircar1. Be sure you hook him up with TV Club Classic, too, and we'll get you a couple of oak leaf clusters for it.
I really hoped that would be the reaction to those who haven't been wanting to plunge back into the sadness. It really is a celebration.
I haven't watched it since it aired, red, and we didn't even have Season 5 on DVD until we acquired it for this last summer of recaps.
I've been rereading the last three summers' worth of coverage over the last couple of nights, and I can't stop myself from repeating my favorite quotes out loud to Noel as I do.
Man, when Gloria opens the door and finds her standing there with a flower in her hand, Cam hiding behind the jamb, that was comedy gold, though.
I watched the show on a screener to write the review, and then when it aired last night — the whole Cam wanting to be a father to a boy angle came through much more strongly on second viewing, and provided a lot of depth. Might have bumped this up to A-, since it gave his storyline so much more punch.
"Legendaddy."
Marshall thought it didn't go well, but we didn't see any decisions made. Just hoping for the best for Marshall and for more Foley.
That is a long way to go for a mnemonic device. I thank you.
I am going to be terrified of that lion falling for the next two seasons. It is way too big for that wall.
I teared up just reading the review!
Thanks for the well-articulated review, Joshua. Although I won't get to see the episode for a few days — work obligations + houseguests = overflowing TiVo — I thought you captured so much of what has made this season just as satisfying as the first, and I appreciate the chance to…
It reads awful on the page, but that was a beautiful and perfectly delivered line by Grace in the context of the scene. It's the opposite of all the cliches for this type of scene, with the daughter tired of being jerked around in the marriage wars but pleading in exhaustion for a litle help, rather than striking out…
I'm going to write this formula down somewhere
Thanks, Zack — especially for confirming that "Bad News" was misbegotten from the start. I'm going to give "Cocktail" less slack than you, which is understandable because I have 22 chances a season to talk about how this is still a journey worth taking, and you have this…
It's such a horrendously forgettable name. But the theme song is kinda catchy.
Noel and I watch it regularly and find it quite reliable and sometimes very good. I think Noel will be writing a Box Populi piece on it in a couple of weeks.
I referenced it in the Twitter update for this post. Sometimes you gotta save one good joke for Twitter.
Why is everybody ignoring the minus?
