Thanks, Mr. PBE. I really appreciate that.

Well, it WAS a lip-synced performance, in the sense that (like all musical numbers) it was recorded ahead of time (with all the wonders of studio technology) and then lip-synced to on the set. I thought the voice was very credible nonetheless, and that was part of the tightrope act wonder of it — Radnor singing, and

"Paul Jones"
That was the Americans needling the British by mentioning John Paul Jones' naval victories in the Revolutionary War, I assumed. And because we're getting it from the British sailors' point of view, they're not too particular about getting the name right or they're not as familiar with the name.

That's "Tijuana Tuesdays." Which is a very scary concept in a school cafeteria, but not as scary as "Tequila Tuesdays" would be.

Just wanted to point out that we'll be discussing jargon in-depth in a later post, so folks itching to talk about it will have plenty of chances.

It's a good point Tasha makes in bringing it up. I had completely forgotten about the meet-cute. Then in the next scene where they are suddenly becoming fast friends, to me it was a wonderful indication of how ready both are to think the best of each other, even from a situation where many would maintain secret

You and I are in the same KATV boat, Jowoco. The worst thing is that the station has been reneging on its schedule to re-air Wednesday primetime network programming in the early morning on the following Sunday. We've been TiVoing then and gotten nothing but infomercials. I kinda want to report them to ABC

My fingers auto-type two spaces from long, long habit. When I'm turning in copy to be edited, I global-find-and-replace to change them all to one space. When I'm writing for the TV Club, I sometimes (as above) don't bother.

When I saw the title of the episode, I actually thought "Rabbit Seasoning"/"Duck Rabbit Duck" was going to be the theme. Slapped myself on the head when Ted brought back the duck/rabbit gestalt image.

The sequel makes him even badder-assed. At the end he blows up the whole world!

Wow, I've been spelling it wrong in my head all these years!

Yes, there was that one shot of them in the lab that made this fact a little too clear.

I just now realized how pants-obsessed Lem was in this episode. Has this always been the case?

… did you know that you are very strong?

Noel turned to me during the show and said, "I'm definitely the reacher." I thought that was sweet.

Yes, it was solid work. Some of the fade-to-blacks going to commercial were abrupt, but overall, kudos to NPH for the behind-the-camera work!

That's intentional. Who gets the reference?

Thanks, Todd
My local ABC affiliate is showing SEC basketball on Wednesdays, pushing MF deep into the early morning hours. (TV Club regulars may remember that the same thing happened to Noel's LOST coverage on a recurring basis in the past.) Todd was very kind to step up and deliver a really thoughtful assessment of

Next week: Amanda Peet!

Nope, Carter Bays and Craig Thomas wrote the song; HIMYM MVP Pamela Fryman directs it.
