This plot is very similar to a NewsRadio episode
from Season 4 when neither Dave or Lisa wants to be the boss.

Kenneth's last line
"That chimp drove a truck on 'You-know-what and the Bear!'"

My first thought was "30-year-old Bill Haverchuck."

i love that sketch
"Man, we can't take him with us, he looks like a wet cigar!"

"The series doesn't develop its characters."
One of the reasons 30 Rock season 1 was so strong was because character development was so much more prominent, and it wasn't just about the jokes. The jokes were terrific, of course, but the relationships between these characters were just being formed and explored— the

yeah, I laughed at the "ice cold diarrhea" line, too, particularly because of Jenna's enthusiasm selling it. (I'm also a sucker for poo-poo and pee-pee jokes- see "Pierce, You're A B".)

Yeah, so was I. On first watch I thought this was the weakest of tonight's lineup— odd because it's consistently been my favorite of NBC's Thursday night shows— but reading the recap reminded me of some really laugh-out-loud funny stuff. I'll have to watch again.

Commercial director

Blatantly screwing someone over for her own benefit is something she might do impulsively (like firing Liz Lemler), but she usually has enough humanity to realize she's fucking

Best of the season? really?
That basically confirms the "Worst season ever!" talk because this episode was emblematic of many of the problems I've had with the show this season.

Nice, I just started binging on old NewsRadio episodes. Gotta love when TV Club caters to my personal tastes.
