She was the Sex Goddess of the Western Hemisphere. R.I.P.

Aw, that kind of profanity never did anyone any good.

*Destiny, in his garden, pauses before turning the pageā€¦*

Gentlemen! You can't fight in here!

The Saint sitting in that chair is one of the most cathartic moments in comics history. I don't even like the last twenty or so issues of Preacher that much, and I still gasped at that.

February 2001 was when the nation was coming to terms with four years of a Bush presidency, so Hannibal makes perfect sense as a movie that came out then; a movie about a man who gets another man high and convinces him to cut off his own face is a good metaphor for the Bush years.

I've read very few of those early stories, but I have read Paul O'Brien's excellent X-Axis index to the X-Men, and he comments amusingly about an episode where, in the middle of a pitched battle where their lives are presumably at stake, Scott warns Jean to be careful running through the woods because she might trip.

Good Omens is practically a Pegg/Frost movie already.
