His Seinfeld reviews. Now, Rabin's Simpsons writeups actually annoy me more than Sims's Seinfeld reviews, but Sims didn't come up with "Manic Pixie Dream Girl", and it's also very fun to yell SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIMS. Sims's current gig (that British political show, whatsitcalled) is actually not

I think there's real gold to be mined in looking at how South Park's attacks on celebrities have evolved and arguably matured - from Tina Yothers-style "a manatee picked this ball, so here we go" to J.Lo-style "we hate you because you're annoying", to the more current "we actually hate this person/phenomenon for

Yeah, I think Sam's just being melodramatic here. For the reasons others have raised (carpetbagging, etc.), running in this special election would make it hard for him to run for a House seat anywhere else…but as someone (Amy?) says in this very episode, the very fact that he wouldn't be expected to win would keep it

@avclub-aa22fb36340151934b048dea777dec7f:disqus You know, I also never quite understood why Bartlet picked Russell. Because he's impressed by Russell's desire to move up? You would think that that would have turned him off, if anything.

While we're talking about every single Sorkin show: I love TWW, *hate* Studio 60, and from the sounds of it, would hate The Newsroom (which sounds like it's exactly like Studio 60). A Few Good Men, OK; The Social Network, two and a half stars. Should I watch Sports Night or will it enrage me?

The fact that it's framed that way bugs the heck out of me to start with, but here's something to ponder. Do we ever get a hint of "Uncle Fluffy" before the episode "The Two Bartlets", when staffers start declaring that "Uncle Fluffy" is going to be The One Issue Of The Campaign? (I mean the persona, not the name.) I

That's the thing about this show: the dialogue is so often so cryptic, and the characters so complex, that you can read a lot of stuff a lot of different ways. I completely see your point about Ritchie's character…but I think that *Sorkin's* character suggests that that exchange was supposed to mean, "Literally

@avclub-a29664bf3d977c774e32e31652f81ee9:disqus Why didn't you buy it? I've had this argument a million times, and the argument always seems to be, "Will is this idealistic guy, and Russell is an evil hack!" But Will genuinely believes - and nobody ever counters the argument - that Russell is Bartlet's chosen
