I was tickled by the subject matter & Hodgman's delight with the parrot.
I think her laughing distracts from the fact that she can be very funny & charming. But I have a low tolerance for people laughing at their own podcasts. (I'm looking at you, We Hate Movies). Except PFT. He can laugh as much as he wants.

I know she's gets plenty of crap for her acting, but I liked her non-actor approach. Sometimes it was so refreshingly natural.

So true. As a lower middle kid, it meant the world to me. The combination of showing a family that actually stressed over money, they'd do an entire show about a Sunday afternoon at home or a family trip to the mall— which is actually where a lot of the drama and lasting memories of my childhood came from.

I don't find reality stars interesting at all, however, I find her obsession with them wholly entertaining. Without her, I never would have known that matchmaker reality star Patty Stanger is made out of garbage and snakes.
