My thoughts exactly! Oliver's opinions on the show are diametrically opposed to my own. And, good Lord, the episode with the sweater was AWFUL!

Yep, it's happening to me too.
The pacing of the episode was relaxed to the point of catatonic. The show felt like it was written, directed (and, yes, in this instance, acted) through a Xanax haze. There was no A plot, just too equally unsatisfying B plots. The Raj is a loveable but annoying (and possibly gay) friend shtick has been done to death…
I read that Kirstie Alley was the only "Cheers" star not to make a guest appearance on "Frasier," because she refused to be on a show about a shrink, since her religion (Scientology) disapproves heavily of psychiatry. Anyway, this info - if true - made me dislike Kirstie Alley.
Agree about The Crazy Ones. It is definitely my favorite of this year's new batch of sitcoms, and by a long shot. It has an authentically and infectiously crazy energy, and a great cast. The writing isn't top-notch, but it's a hell of a lot better than "Mom." AV Club should definitely cover The Crazy Ones, as its…
This was a really strange episode of what is a pretty strange show. I still don't know what this show is really about, and I'm not sure the show does either. Its direction changes from week to week. One thing is for sure, Janney and Faris deserve much better material.
Wendi McLendon-Covey is amazingly talented and likeable. I can't help but smile when she is onscreen.
The pilot was bad, but the show has improved quite a lot since then. I am not saying it is great - it most assuredly is not - and it remains very uneven, but it has a lot going for it. Chiefly, an able and talented cast. The actors really gel as a family. Unlike, say, "The Millers" you believe in this cast as a…
I agree. The messed up timeline drives me crazy. In a recent episode, the Wendi Mclendon-Covey character talks about going "power walking." I could swear the term "power walk" only came to prominence in the 1990s. In the 1980s, she would just say "jog." It's lazy stuff like this that drives me crazy. Don't they have…
Almost every episode of the last three seasons has been a big fuck you to the fans, in my opinion.
I was thinking the same thing!
Scabbit?! Seriously? Seriously! Was there a competition in the writers' room to come up with a worse name than ChumHum? Why are The Good Wife writers so terrible at naming fake tech companies based on real things?
Smith is great (and anyone who thinks otherwise is cardboard-level dull, and just plain wrong). He elevates otherwise bad or boring episodes (like his last TBBT appearance, when Amy was crushing on him) by his mere presence and intelligently stupid delivery. He's an asset, dammit!
Conversation in TBBT writers' room:
Exactly! And that's one reason why the first two seasons are the show's best. Season one took some time to find its footing, but Season two is really funny, sharp, and a pleasure to watch. From season three it turned into a very different kind of show, and one not nearly as fun or funny, in my opinion.
It remains implausible that Penny would be in a relationship with Leonard - implausible AND unfunny. Now Penny and Zach, I could totally believe that pairing (although Zach is what I call "sitcom stupid," no one in real life is quite that dumb). And I'm beginning to think that the Penny-Zach relationship would be a…
That was a terrible episode - I could barely get through it (although in fairness, the second half was a lot more tolerable than the first) - but I think I preferred it to last week's abomination. At least this week the characters were true to themselves, their motivations remained fairly plausible, and there was a…
I had no idea who Melissa George was just a few weeks ago, and now I just want her to GO AWAY. She is super-annoying. (The less said about Will's gf, the better.)
I am not loving this redesign. Got to say it.
Your joke was funnier than anything on this week's TBBT, that's for sure.
