I simply cannot imagine why anyone would endorse Hero (known as Accidental Hero in the UK, so I've read). It wasn't funny, so none of the "satire" elements worked.

Hey, if you know that much, you should also know that NBC stabbed Gene Roddenberry in the back when it gave the good Monday time slot for Fall '68 to its new midseason comedy hit Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In instead of Star Trek. Just like now, Fridays at 10 p.m. was where you sent shows to die in 1968.

mollymauk: Oh hell yes, Hyundai was still a punchline in 1992. Their cars didn't even rise to the level of "acceptable" until about 10 years ago.

Glengarry Glen Ross (which I saw in the theater and own on DVD) did indeed come out in 1992, but you'd have to try pretty hard to construe anything about it as specific to that era.

As much as I enjoy Barry Levinson's work generally (as both writer and director), Toys should never be retrieved from its deserved obscurity even for lists such as this. It was so ineffective that
