For me, it was the "anyone got a dime?" the inflection and everything. Gutterpunks are fun because I think there's supposed to be some anti-materialism aspect of their lifestyle, but I think that gets lost somewhere and just becomes about mooching.

EVERYTHING ABOUT AGENT COOPER MUST BE SPLLED IN ALL CAPS SO AS TO BETTER ELICIT THE MANNER OF SPEAKING DAVID LYNCH USED IN TWIN PEAKS WHILE PLAYING COOPER'S BOSS, AGENT GORDON. ALSO IT REALLY PISSES OFF PEOPLE WHO DON'T LIKE WHEN YOU TYPE ENTIRELY IN CAPS AND I ENJOY THAT.
I know punks just like those punks, they really nail these super specific subcultures.
The City will be decked in black for months though
I call the questionable DIRLB2L action figure of Dan's token black friend with non-removable manacles!
Actually this movie sounds just like David Denby's sort of thing.

Reading here has been interesting, because I really feel the grade is appropriate and almost everyone else disagrees. The last time this happened was actually sort of similar. In an episode of Always Sunny, Charlie verbally destroys a woman who clearly has strong feelings for him. But over the 8 or so seasons,…

FX rarely seems to have a clue how to market its shows. The always sunny ad campaign last year was totally bizarre, but fortunately for that show it's been on for years.
What about legitimate rape? It's got legitimate right in there!
Not just the lede, but the whole article. I'm glad someone is defending short stories, but the fact that it was inspired by a gawker article shows how completely unnecessary it is. Anyone with half a brain can list off important short story writers: Flaubert, Kafka, Chekhov. Shit some of Hemingway's short stories are…
I love PT Anderson. I love Thomas Pynchon. Yeah, probably won't see this movie.
Sopranos style!
"The most blatant example of this is when Nova discusses the history of spy planes leading to drones, where the capture of a pilot by the Soviet Union ends up “…clearly demonstrating the need for unmanned spy planes.” But of course, that's not clear. Since the Cold War never turned into a hot war against the Russians,…
Talking about drones in an apolitical way makes me think of the onion story: "Autistic Reporter: Train Thankfully Unharmed In Crash"
I think they understand the way the winds of social progress are blowing and it's not in the direction of social conservatism. But economic ideas are more mutable and thus hard right wingers will always be more successful with their economic policies, rather than their social policies.
holy shit tell me about it, I remember playing when I was young and being genuinely freaked out by some of the stuff
I also think that some loans have to be backed by a second party that agrees to pay the debt if the other can't (I'm pretty sure some student loans are like this), I guess they might have insisted given that he was in pretty poor health.
