I don't think anyone has much, if any, sympathy for Gawker. There are issues here worth examining, though, despite how crappy Gawker was.

Knappenberger was interviewed this morning at Sundance by Amy Goodman for Democracy Now. Much of the focus seems to be on Trump and Thiel. Interesting stuff. Looking forward to watching this.

And it shouldn't have won. That said, Ordinary People was a better movie than Hidden Figures.

Isn't that part of what made his performance great, though? He elevated that character.

I know some love that movie, but a lot of people were disappointed in seeing it after the hype it got around here. And by a lot of people, I mean me.

Hidden Figures is bad. Sorry, but it is. And it is a great story that I'm glad is getting told. But the movie sucks. The movie was only a little better than the Timeless episode that covered similar ground.

In the Director's Cut "Strange Fruit" is replaced by INXS's "Never Tear Us Apart."

Maybe he dug his own grave with that Babe Ruth movie.

I liked The Witch, but I'm not promoting it as the year's best or anything.
