They've been easing up on Maw Maw's supposed dementia all season. When present, she's been mostly lucid, which has been a a very positive change. This episode in particular, though, she was participating in conversations and commenting on the action as though nothing had ever been wrong.

The ending to this episode was so huge that, for me, it overshadowed everything that preceded it. I don't really remember much except for the ending, which compelled me to click the "Next" button… even though I had intended to stop at the end of the season.

I love that song and the whole album of The Last Broadcast, of which "Caught By The River" is the closing track.

Oh no! I've fallen behind in my watching along! I saw "My Case Study" about a week ago, but it's been at least a couple of years since I last watched "My Big Mouth" - plus, it's kind of hazy in my memory, because (as Myles rightly points out), it's nobody's favorite episode. I'll get caught up this week, but for now I

Aw, dang, you're right. I kind of liked the "Barney is dead in the future" theory.

My god, those bangs were terrible.

Of course, My Name Is Earl was doing the same thing several years before Parks & Rec existed, but you raise an interesting comparison nonetheless.

Nilknarf!!!

Imaginary hat!

And whatever the male equivalent of "sploosh" is… which I guess is just "sploosh."

Given that Ray's brother appears to be an identical twin (or nearly-identical, anyway), I'm wondering if Adam Reed wasn't also shooting for Leaves of Grass with that parody.

@Kumagoro:disqus , that surprises me, since I recall a significant portion of the behind-the-scenes features on the DVD being dedicated to members of the cast and crew talking about what a consummate professional "Johnny C" is.

By now, it's pretty pointless to talk about how much I love this episode, because, well, jeeze, they're all good.

He's be a pretty good JJ, sure. In fact, I'd love to see him as the Jameson to Donald Glover's Peter Parker.

Yeah, I'm on @avclub-68c81a145181a6b3092221895a3fd1a9:disqus 's side here. This is a pop culture site, not a scientific journal. I'd prefer variety of language where nomenclature allows for it.

Accountiiiiiing….

Season 2 is my favorite season, as well. A lot of really good episodes, including "My Overkill," "My Case Study," Elliott's relationship with Nurse Flowers, the first appearance fo J.D.'s brother (Tom Cavanaugh, TV's Ed) "My Lucky Day," "My Philosophy," the whole Tasty Coma Wife plot, and of course, the first "His

@avclub-85dad136bc9628b8299f09f65f71403f:disqus , I wouldn't classify U2 as "Indie Pop," and I doubt Braff had anything to do with that soundtrack choice anyway. I'll agree that it wasn't as charming as "Overkill," though.
@avclub-ea9801d85b7cf240f9304fb0f74ef9d2:disqus , you're thinking of "My Occurence," which was

The first time I saw Scrubs, I was a freshman in college. It was late autumn 2004, and I was about to begin my first round of Finals. My roommate said "I'm in the mood to watch Scrubs," and because I didn't actually watch a whole lot of TV at the time, I hadn't been interested before. He put on the pilot episode, and

That's a really good way to sum up the character. I'd never thought about him that way before.
