Dude, I think you just cracked the show.

I disagree. Put yourself in Robin's shoes. She asks the same question to two different guys, within hours of each other.
Robin: "I'm such a mess. Why do you even like me?"
Barney: "I guess 'cause you're almost as messed up as I am."

Yeah, Fringe makes frequent explicit reference to Walter's fondness for Mary J, and also utilizes LSD more than any other show on network TV - I think they get away with some of it because of the clinical nature of his work, even though a lot of Walter's drug use is recreational.

I stand corrected twice. Thank you, McPickleshitter and @avclub-b0cb521aba34990a0004c654f205b22b:disqus .

That's also one of the S8 episodes without Braff… Coincidence?

Well-observed. I never thought of it that way.

God, that was one of the most depressing endings I've ever seen.

I don't think Seasons 6 and 7 were entirely bereft of good material (season 6's "My Jiggly Ball" is one of my all-time favorite episodes, for instance), but on the whole they were very lackluster and showed an inconsistent understanding of their characters.

Ugh, that episode.

It flirted with shark-jumping, but they put enough planning and care into the execution that it worked.

***SPOILERS***

Except for "Visit the Meiffel Tower."

"My Old Lady" is one of the best half-hours of television ever produced. To any Scrubs neophyte, I recommend starting with that episode, and then, if you like what you see, go back to the pilot. I've roped at least a half-dozen new fans with that technique, and that ending still slays me every time.

How serendipitous that this episode should air just a couple of days before my move. I doubt I'll get my deposit back, but at least I can be reasonably assured I won't screw up as badly as Pierce.

Yeah, it was supposed to be a spin-off, but ABC didn't want to lose the branding. The show was technically renamed to Scrubs: Med School,, but it was still the same show, as evidenced by the refusal to let go of its erstwhile star.

The Magnetic Fields' version is weird and quirky and all that… but the Peter Gabriel version makes me cry. Maybe that has something to do with its strategic placement in the Scrubs finale (which was perhaps overly sentimental, but I would argue that the show earned itself a few minutes of self-congratulatory

Was that request honored?

Wouldn't Carla be afrocaribeña?

Hey, I loved Scrubs when it was on, and I love Community now. I don't get why everyone thinks shows like this need to be at war.

Truth. It could easily have been botched, and they would have lost most of their fans if it had been handled poorly. But that was a fine episode, with some of the sharpest dramatic dialogue they ever wrote, and it got me rooting for them to get back together again - and to make it WORK this time.
